Woo Hoo Love this with the editing. Getting really good.
Oyez oyez All be upstanding. Trailmix court is on the air.
Pogo and I may have a bit of a contretemps. Let’s see how it turns out in the final. He says the decision either way will be 5/4. I think it will be 6/3. Start taking bets now.
Its just tea leaf gazing. We’ll know in 3 months.
Loved hearing David B. again. It’s been a long time since Vegas. You need to ship him to Britain. I have a mission for him. Nobody but nobody can get any inside info and I’m actually talking to people there and they aren’t talking …. it’s all hush hush and wonderful. They insist we must wait until the end of the year, but I want to know everything NOW!! Cry, moan, and general wailing.
heehee! Was fun to hear your voices! I’ve missed being here, but I’m going to try to get here much more often! Craig, how often are you going to try doing this? and LOL about having a ‘little Mitt’ in her. I’m afraid I had bad thoughts!

Tony, you and me bud. I’d love to get Patsi’s perspective.
I enjoyed hearing TM talk radio.
Jamie..I wish you would have made up a story to explain why that town was named Bullhead. Something like..some man crossed an organized crime family and the next day he woke up with a bull head in his bed. Nahh..I guess not..but it would have been a cool story. Hey..Fox News makes up stuff all the time.

Hi Pogo,
Ah well, as with my mom and other departed loved one’s, i sorely miss what Patsi would have to say!
You were great! Craig shines always but you and him together, well, great entertainment for me!
I have a question for you peeps. I know with all the collective intelligence here that someone has a good answer.
I like talk radio. When I’m in my vehicle..especially if I have to drive for a while..I like to listen to talk radio. I’ve tried to listen to.. you know who..afraid to mention his name..but I had to stop and vomit too often and that slowed me down. Now I’m listening to Yahoo Sport’s radio and I’m not even that big of a sport’s fan. I have fallen in love with Travis Roger’s though. He’s cool. I even sent him an email and he responded to my email on his radio show. Yep..little old ME..on sport’s radio..that’s a miracle.
Why hasn’t there been any middle of the road person or left leaning person with a successful nationally syndicated talk radio program? Is it only rednecks who listen to talk radio? I am starting to get a little tan there.
Maybe Craig can start something that catches on. Let me give you a little hint of what seems to sell though. You have to be a little on the evil side. People seem to love evil. The more the better. Make fun of a few pitiful vulnerable people. That seems to help.
ct, you want a little blasphemous evil?
this isn’t exactly jace’s sunday sublime music but it was all i could muster up. happy “palm” sunday and april fool’s day to one and all!
I’m doing a little creative visualization..Craig Crawford’s nationally syndicated talk radio program. Join me here. Close your eyes and picture it. It can work. It got me a camp.
Oops..I forgot what the day was Patd. That wasn’t an April Fools joke I was doing..promise.
Richard Branson plants tongue firmly in cheek to throw Virgin into a volcano with a Voyage To The Center of The Earth
jamie, by those illustrations, my guess is when branson yelled “screw it” his staff took him literally.
That has to be an April Fool’s joke cuz anyone taking that trip would definitely be a FOOL!
ct
Whoever wrote it was having a very good time with all the double entendres.
On your talk radio problem, I take it you don’t have a progressive station in your area? Thom Hartman, Stephanie Miller, Ring of Fire, Bill Press, etc? Most are on subscription radio as well. Of course there are on line broadcasts but that doesn’t do you any good in a car.
Jamie..I want a nationally syndicated..anyone can listen..talk radio show.
Thom Hartmann, Stephanie Miller & others on the Dial Global syndicate come about as close to that as possible, but just being syndicated doesn’t mean that you are picked up everywhere. You can be a nuisance to your local stations demanding that they pick up a program.

How can anyone expect to ever change the south when the only influence we have is from……not to be mentioned.
And I don’t understand why CNN selected Piers Morgan to replace Larry King?? What a miserable mistake that was..IMO. I’d rather see Anderson Cooper in that role.
ct
About the only chance you have is if someone with real money buys a group of radio stations in the area and then hangs in there until that become at least break even if not profitable … good luck with that.
There is such a thing as brain washing ya know. It does work.
My Stepfather even had his cows listing to..you know who. Can you imagine some radical right beef on the loose!

Ct,
One of the great hymns of all time. Will undoubtedly be giving it a go this morning at choir.
I love hymns Jace. Can’t sing well enough to be in any choir Jace..even if I did go to church. I never let it stop me as a youngster though. Now I attend the Church of the Big River. Or the Church of the..not as big.. swimming pool. Water to me is very spiritual.
This is one that give me chills..and the Mormons doing it..nice touch.
It’s more appropriate for next week.

Oops..I linked the wrong hymn. I’ll try again.

Keith Olbermann and Al Gore’s Unseemlyly Dog Fight
by Taylor Marsh
The reason that there have been no successful lefties on talk radio is that the networks that spew talk radio don’t want lefties.
The commercial adventure begun by Al Franken and others 1. didn’t have the capital to make a successful advertising blitz, and 2. their product didn’t stimulate the reptilian brain, the inner lizard if you will, of American lefties. It didn’t call forth torchlit marches or rumbling tumbrils. In short, no red meat. 3. for some reason, many American lefties are uncomfortable living in their lizard brains anyway. The herdsmen of rightwingnuts refer to this leftie aversion to blood and guts politics as the ‘vegetarian mind’.
Amen to that, Xrepub
Craig,
As a recovering rip up lican, I still yearn to see the enemies’ heads on pikes.
Sigh.
One day atta time. Dammit.
Craig..did you get those instructions from XR? Gotta add just a touch of that to your radio show. I have some anolis I can send ya. They’re everywhere. They’re in the lizard family. Do you think an anole would do XR? You can even get them to clip onto your ear and just put that up on your talk radio pic. That will give the lizard appearance.
In case you are not familiar with Anolis…
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anolis
Yeah..I’m doing my yardwork but the old girl’s gotta rest every now and again. I ain’t no spring chicken anymore.
ha, ct, growing up in Florida I know ALL ABOUT lizards
With the Republicans beating each other up and now the Olbermann and Gore war..it’s a perfect time for a smart..reasonable Independent to step in and save the day. I have a suggestion…MY BUDDY! MY BUDDY! BUDDY ROEMER!
And Tony..thanks again on your links to Marsh.
Ya know XR..people are angry. There’s a lot to be mad about these days. It almost doesn’t matter what you’re mad about..just be mad about something.
Also.. need to balance that with a good sense of humor. We all like to laugh. Craig has that sense of humor down pat. Now we just have to build a fire under his ass. Make him mad that his ass is on fire.
ct, here’s another oldie but goodie hymn plus some nice nature shots. starts off with an anthony hopkins type psalm reading for jace.
for those who prefer country: same song, same verse. could be better, could be worse.
Pant..pant..pant. Just came in for a breather. It’s hot outside. It’s in the mid 80s with the sun beating down.
Love that song too Patd. They did let us sing that one.
What church were you guys raised in..if you were?
Patd..loved both versions. It’s those voices..that music and the pics that prove to me that there is definitely a God! And we’re best friends even when she sends some tough lessons my way.
We saw about a bazillion anoles in FL over the winter. Plus a few gekkos. Not Gordon. These were cream colored with tiny brown eyes.
A lizard portion of the show would be good as long as the rant became preposterous and funny. Anyone have a blackboard they can spare ?
Btw, Happy April Fools Day, everyone !
May your day be merry and bright,
And may all your April Fools Days
Delight.
I’ve recently become familiar with the House Gecko. I occasionally see one in my camp. I don’t bother them. I have even put out a tiny water bowl for them just in case they get thirsty after eating the light bugs that come in when I open my door at night. They look like an anemic little lizard.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_House_Gecko
sea, how’s the senate race going on the vineyard? is it the same as this globe blurb from taegan’s political wire today?
ct, yeah those bugs can really make you thirsty. and it’s hell when their tiny legs get caught between your teeth. but their phosphoresence does leave a piquant tang on the lips.
yours is a kind, compassionate soul for considering the welfare of a gecko.
Just got back from Wally World where I loaded up on dark chocolate Easter candy and a new Dremel rotary tool. I had a Black and Decker Wizard and it just went dead. Must have been made in China. Haven’t used it in years and it looks good but doesn’t work. They must plant a self destruction code in them. This tool was made in Mexico with the parts made in one of 11 different countries including the USA . You don’t actually know who to blame when that stuff breaks. That’s a smart move.
Patd..I do have compassion for most living things..except roaches. I squish them. Even snakes I carry off to a more desirable habitat. If they are poisonous..I’m too busy running to consider what to do with them.
And I don’t want any dead bodies laying around the house.
Jace
Even though it was written for his dying father, Dylan still had the craftsmanship to frame it as a rather difficult poetic form -- A Pentameter Villanelle. He did it so well, you don’t know it on reading but actually have to study the darn thing.
jamie, for you from wiki:
I very rarely see a snake..except the one that was chasing a frog and jumped in my pool right on top of my sister. I was watching in disbelief.
The frog came tearing out of some weeds. The long black snake was hot on it’s ass. The frog knew it was losing the chase so it took a left turn into my pool. The snake followed. I could see the look on the snake’s face. It was in mid-air when it realized that that was a bad move.
I wasn’t in the pool and was yelling at my sister. She was back paddling trying to get away. Took her a while to get some traction.
I got my big net to try and catch it to see if it was a poisonous snake. My sister said she was bit. It was trying to get it out of the pool but I didn’t want it to get away. I did net it and put it in a garbage can. It turned out to be a black water snake and I brought it to the river and set it free. Believe it or not.. my sister was back in the pool the very next day. She was bit but it was just scratches since it didn’t have fangs. I had the pic of it up on my blog the other day but Coreen made me take it down.
right wingers seem to be going nuts spreading the word that there is no severability clause in obamacare and therefore the whole thing will fall if mandate struck down.
http://newsbusters.org/blogs/ken-shepherd/2012/03/29/zeke-emanuel-msnbc-lack-severability-obamacare-just-oversight-historic
Very exciting day here at Trail Mix Headquarters. Workers just finished a week of remodeling on three floors to repair roof leak damage from Hurricane Irene last August. Here’s my office with new paint, carpet, the works, guess this means no excuse to goof off anymore.. http://twitpic.com/94duxg
I..for one..believe in a mandate. If a person can afford it..they should be required to buy insurance. I don’t want to pay for their health care. Then insurance rates should be regulated..reasonable. If they can’t afford it..there should be some kind of assistance.
If the mandate goes down…trash the entire thing and start over.
Don’t know if someone linked this yet.
“What does Walmart have to do with Trayvon Martin?”

The assistance for indigent people comes from the counties and municipalities. The cost of it is paid through your property taxes. The ex-urban rich, who don’t live in the same county as poor folks, don’t contribute through their property taxes, although the roads, sewers, warer systems, and electrical grids that support ex-urban richies’ lifestyles are usually subsidised by us suburban and urban folks, who aren’t nearly as well off.
Just returned from the annual April Fool’s Day Parade in lovely downtown Occidental, Ca.
I thought the Hubbub Club Band was the hot of the parade
I love parades big and small.
Congressman Paul Ryan is an excellent liar. He looks so sincere and well-meaning and he is nothing but a lying dirt bag. Democrats better be ready with short punchy answers to his bullshit and include lots of facts (real is great but faux facts work too since he is basing his position on a pile of made-up poop.
I had an opportunity to watch Bill Maher we don’t get HBO. Yes he is profane and mean but his entire show is like that. I think the comparison to the biggest ugliest gooper is unfair.
Craig,
your office looks great. Open, airy, and efficient.
Enjoy.
What did you sing in church today Jace? And what church do you go to?
Jamie,
You are schooling me a bit here. What is a Pentameter Villanelle? What are other examples? I just barley got past iambic pentameter.
Ct,
We sang a selection from a contemporary cantata.
Hymns included “All glory, laud and honor”, “O sacred head now wounded” and “Ah, Holy Jesus”.
All in all a pretty good day for hymns.
I was born and raised Episcopalian, now do Lutheran (ELCA). They have better coffee.
LOL on the coffee
Ct,
If you are traveling, Lutherans have a very economical air service as well. I have included their promotional film. Kind of a regional service however.
Martin Luther had a favorite pub and was fond of beer.
I figured that he was my kind of guy. Can’t for the life of me understand how the latter day Lutherans got to be so stodgy.
Well singing and dinner sound pretty good..the rest..not so.
Ct,
They started the trend of bringing your own food on board.
For Wisconsin and Missouri Synods, beer is sacrament. They opposed dancing.
The Scandinavian Lutherans frowned on alcoholic beverages. They liked dancing.
ELCA Lutherans told me that Missouri and Wisconsin Synod Lutherans are opposed to premarital sex because it could lead to dancing.
I wouldn’t follow Luther too far. Toward the end he had DTs.
I’d stop 6″ shy of that.
Well…. 2″.
XR,
LMAO!
Currently drinking beer brewed by the folks at New Belgium, I think that I’m safe just now.
My Lutheran brethren are suspicious of me because of my fondness for Scotch.
I always thought that dancing lead to premarital sex, but what do I know? I never could find a denomination that entirely in sync with my thoughts in that regard.
Well, I got my paper work .
We are station #5428 , I have several thousand butterfly seeds in the pipeline , in my 28 year old greenhouse.
Which runs like a fucking top. When I wrap the string.
2 weeks from yesterday, I can sell them at $1 Dollar ea.
Jace
Me too..isn’t that why we dance?
Is it Catholic Scotch or Calvinist Scotch ?
in my 28 year old greenhouse.
3 days ago , it was 96F degrees in my back yard in March.
I have a lot of thermal mass , I may regret this design blunder.
KGC,
I see we think alike.
XR,
It is neither, it is single malt.
Women abandon GOP in battleground states. Gallup Poll
I heard the words “single malt” psychically and it drew me here immediately.
I have a lot of thermal mass ………….
I also have a tomato plant from last Sept , 8 or 9 on the vine. No carbon was used in growing the plant , now more than 4 months ahead of everyone else, I’m watching my first tomato .
Jace
A Villanelle is a very strict French poetic form involving repeated lines in a specific sequence. Pentameter is a five count rhythm used by both Shakespeare and The Blues and is the meter of choice for most modern Villanelles. Here is the full Wiki on it but you can just scroll to the bottom for examples of which the Dylan Thomas is the most famous:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Villanelle
Luther also suffered from extreme constipation. That sort of thing can give you a very dismal outlook on just about everything.
Jamie,
Thank you for the info. and the link. I knew that I did not pay close enough attention in English Lit.
I stole fire from the Victorians , when I read the Whole Earth Catalog.
That happened , nearly 40 years ago.
It’s why my greenhouse is 28 years old.
“Luther also suffered from extreme constipation. That sort of thing can give you a very dismal outlook on just about everything.”
Obviously he wasn’t drinking enough beer.
He was known for his lengthy sermons. I guess he had plenty of time to sit and think.
Loved the season opener for Game of Thrones now on to Once Upon A Time and then beddy bye. Sweet Dreams folks.
I read the Whole Earth Catalog.
That happened , nearly 40 years ago.
I read nearly every book in it, as well, at the same time.
I have pictures prove it.
I read “Hubble Atlas of Galaxies” .
Lot’s of pictures in that one.
I broke down like baby last month , I when to Hylton Lumber , and cried like baby.
I was the first guy this guy hired . I was after food stamps.
Liberals work much harder , than people think.
Mr. Hylton was gay carpenter , he taught me for nearly 2 years . I can make anything from wood . Since that time .
Bob
I read the New Whole Earth Catalog--many, many times. I have no idea where it is now. I suspect I loaned it to someone years ago. My loss, their gain. Mine was a Book of the Month Club selection.
Don’t get me wrong , I still dream the of soft skin, ……. of women .
XR
We live in what many would call an exurban area. We are screwed in every utility/public service we buy because we are a captive audience in that we don’t have enough mass to provide the services on our own. We must purchase water, fire suppression, etc., from somewhat distance sources at rates greatly higher than they charge their own residents.
Jace/jamie
Pentameter Villanelle? I think that’s why I joined the Army.
Hey Craig, digging your radio “thingie” as you call it. So glad it’s getting featured on HuffPo (and Hollywood Reporter), you deserve it. Congrats on the new office, looks nifty. Just gotta say it cracks me up how you run this blog even tho commenters here talk to themselves as if you don’t exist. Quite unique, as blog hosts go.
But gay men changed my life.
Good show, great looking re-modelled office, Craig.
Speaking of sports, Notre Dame women are playing Tuesday for the national title, while Ohio State’s loss in mens’ basketball was disappointing. And of course I am ready for some baseball.
TV…Game of Thrones is back on new? I clicked onto a show from last year…anyway, I watched the season ending “Shameless” on Showtime. Great show. Love Wm. H. Macy and Emmy Rossum.
Trayvon Martin…I am convinced Zimmerman just tracked him down and executed him. Hell, he hasn’t been arrested yet, but that report of a struggle is bogus. We’ll see.
After Hylton Lumber , I when anywhere I wante3d .
Mr. Hylton was gay carpenter , ……. he died from AIDS,
I could make a great square on a quilt .
Out living people is fun , they are dead . I am not .
“After Hylton Lumber , I when anywhere I wante3d”
Like that for example. Is this a blog for intelligent discussion or just a place for drunks who need a cab?
Oh no , he has no square .
Coloradobob, Do you actually think anyone knows what the hell you’re talking about? Get some sleep, for pete’s sake.
I mean, really, I came on here to engage intelligent beings. Instead I find yet another self-indulgent blog hog making no sense at all, like most blogs out there.
Mr. Hylton was gay carpenter , ……. he died from AIDS, ……. he got out of a federal pen, made a business , and then gave me a job .
Hundreds of have had a job as well since that day .
Stone cold fact.
Tell me deep things kid , but you better be REAL deep.
Cough up your fur ball sport , we’ll decide if you’re an intelligent being.
robintexas,
when you have a bit longer you may understand CBob, then again you may not, but no matter, until then, sit back and learn.
You want deep things? First, tell me how taking over someone else’s blog thread with nonsensical crap gives you the right to ask such a question. Get your own blog if you think you actually have an audience.
Jace, sit back and learn? What is this? Some sort of private club for speaking in tongues? No wonder you guys run off everyone who dares to enter. Good luck with that. I’ll wander elsewhere. Why bother?
robintexas -
You owe me $39.00 , we did this before you ever came by …….
http://tmfishcamp.blogspot.com/
Cough up your fur ball sport , we’ll decide if you’re an intelligent being.
robintexas,
If you had been here on a regular basis you would know this is a very welcoming place, check the archives.
You pop in here and take a few unfair and unnecessary shots at one of our regulars and you can bet that some one is going to call you out.
Do a little reading and a dab of research, and take a few years. When you have done half as much for your fellow man as has CBob, then stop back and pass judgement, until then STFU
robintexas -
Please write your deep political thoughts here :
So I can beat them like a baby seal.
Ha, just popped in before sleep and caught the latest “kerfuffle.” Some interlopers get us, some don’t. As the Bard his own self said, “The wheel is come full circle.” Carry on and Good Night.
Some interlopers get us, some don’t.
Yes, but we got whacked for not being “deep thinkers”…….
Think about it , robintexas gave us hard time , for failing to be clever, and just being shallow .
Alas, robintexas only only rubbed salt in our eye , and produced zero new fresh political thinking
CBob,
We’re deep enough.
Get some sleep. There are dragons to slay and windmills to tilt.
robintexas -
Nice job , do you pee on everyone’s carpet , when you meet them ?
robintexas -
We await your deep thinking, please enter it here >>>>>
Jace -
You’re right , but my blood is up and I have a keyboard.
Jace -
I begged people for money more than once. Now , I’m moving on several fronts , no begging , I’m just moving.
Because I am not a beggar anymore, I don’t come here share anymore.
The trick is , all the good things we did here, that’s where I’m spending my money.
Jace -
If I started a fundraiser today , I could give $5000.00 .
I have pile of money , and I’m spending it as fast as I can on all my dreams.
Jace -
My closest friends are building a drag strip for belt sanders.
They built the “Christmas Tree “, and timing lights …….
It’s 40 feet long , I haven’t spent a penny yet , but I will.
Bingo
Dang it C-Bob..I just spit coffee all over my laptop.
