  1. Flatus says:

Sea, I know you aren’t a political person by desire. Consider doing as Patsi might do if she felt as you do. Knowing that she was a wholehearted Hillary supporter, I think she just might fold her tent and wait for 2016 so far as the top of the ticket is concerned. I don’t think she would be in Dr Rice’s corner despite her achievements.

  2. Flatus says:

Craig, a nice, but brief, appearance. Imus’ interaction with you was very nice. Smile

  3. Katherine Graham Cracker says:

Rice has already said she won’t do it. I think people speculate on this kind of stuff because the reality is too boring

First Rubio and now Condi neither are going to be the choice but much more entertaining to talk about.

Apparently Potholesaplenty and Shrub’s budget guy are the leading contenders…in the vein of Romney wants someone just like himself.

The woman on the list isn’t Condiliar -- it’s the governor from New Mexico

  4. Jamie says:

Rice is pro choice. That wouldn’t go down well with the right wing. They already hate having to vote for Mitt. Having to vote for a pro choice, well educated, powerful black woman would probably bring on apoplexy.

  5. Whatever the merits it is very clear the Romney camp leaked this Rice consideration. Now either it’s a trial baloon to see whether right wingers can handle it, OR it’s all a grand distraction to change the subject from Bain Cap, OR both

  6. Flatus says:

Circle ‘d’, ‘all of the above’

  7. Flatus says:

I think Dr Rice is where she wants to be at this point in her life. She’s done her national service and has learned what it means being a team player at that level.

This time when she says ‘no,’ I think she means ‘no.’

  8. Jamie says:

Expletive loaded but very funny letter to Mitt

  9. Katherine Graham Cracker says:

If people really really cannot vote for Obama consider voting for this year’s Green Party ticket

  10. Katherine Graham Cracker says:

The Romney campaign leaks all kinds of things mostly bilge
unfortunately not clever enough to make artwork
but I can imagine the Romeny’s leaking all kinds of things from their campaign…big rolls of baloney, safety nets with no netting, patient centered medical care with the insurance companies redefined as the patient….

  11. RebelliousRenee says:

IMO, the answer is B… Romney is trying to distract from the discovery of SEC filings that have him as CEO of Bain into 2002.

The domestic hour of Diane Rhem this morning had all the panelists saying what Jamie’s already stated… there’s no way Romney will pick Condi because of her pro-choice stance. Especially considering that many in the Republican base are still suspicious of his so-called conservative leanings.

  12. whskyjack says:

Romney may pick Rice, if so then it is just another indication of how inept his campaign is.
He really needs a vp with social conservative chops that doesn’t scare the swing voters. That way the VP can quietly assure the base that it is all about getting elected and “don’t worry we are really on your side”

  13. RebelliousRenee says:

    And BTW Craig….

The last part of Kelly Ayotte’s last name is pronounced at “ott” as in otter.

She’s actually a very intelligent woman… but unfortunately she’s spouting all kinds of right wing junk such as climate change is a hoax in order to appease the loonies.

  14. whskyjack says:

    Or vote libertarian
Sensible immigration, it can be done.

  15. whskyjack says:

  16. whskyjack says:

The thing about Gary Johnson is that he is a sane Libertarian and a proven executive. He is a rational choice for the libertarian bent of the right and the left.

  17. Yep, just what we as a country need, another War Criminal in the White House.

No matter what Condiliar says or does nothing will change for her. She will always be remembered for what she has been.

A War Criminal in the Bush\Cheney War Crimes Family White House.

    Have a great day.

  18. RebelliousRenee says:

Consider doing as Patsi might do if she felt as you do.

Flatus… I know you mean well with that above statement. Suggesting that someone might want to consider another candidate is one thing…. but to suggest that OSH might want to vote as someone else might do (no matter who they are) is akin to thinking OSH doesn’t have a mind of her own.

I know you don’t mean it that way. But a feminist who doesn’t know you,IMO, would take it that way.

    just sayin’….

  19. Katherine Graham Cracker says:

    RR
in OSH’s original post she said she was going to think about Patsi when she cast her vote

    oldseahag says:
    07/13/2012 at 8:56 AM

And I’ll think of Patsi when I cast my vote.

  20. RebelliousRenee says:

KGC… I understand that. But I did not take OSH’s post to mean that she would vote the way she thinks Patsi would vote if she were alive.

I may be wrong… maybe now I’m the one taking something too seriously. It just evokes memories of when I was an election official and knowing that certain women were suggested to vote certain ways.

  21. patd says:

Romney is trying to distract from the discovery of SEC filings that have him as CEO of Bain into 2002

renee, a no-cost distraction at that. all that air time provided free across the media spectrum. saves them wasting those millions they’ve stashed away for the rainy day of october surprises (yet to be discovered stuff on the order of the bain booboo filed with the sec. btw, someone’s got to fall on the sword for that perjury).

  22. Oregon Democrat says:

It does not matter who is the Veep choice…Romney will lose…Even Obama can beat him…

  23. jaxtrader says:

I have a huge amount of respect for Ms.Rice. Having never really thought about her as a vp candidate, I find that I am very interested in this possibility.

Initially, I suppose that I am most attracted to her steadfast support of a strong “America First” foreign policy. I have no doubt that she would be very respected ( and maybe feared)throughout the world.

Unfortunately, I feel that neither male candidate for the next election is either respected or feared by the rest of the world.

I’m going to have to think about this more but I have to admit to a positive first reaction.

  24. Flatus says:

Renee, Patsi and I shared the agony of how to vote in the general when we believed that our candidate had been screwed by the chosen one in the nominating process. We each came up with our own personal voting strategy that allowed us to protest while not rewarding the republic candidate.

Ever since we were toddlers, we’ve been told that it’s our civic duty to vote. I merely pointed out another option that was available--something akin to what Patsi and I ultimately did.

If Mr Obama or the functionaries in the Obama administration had addressed the Patton’s Army issue as it affects Sea’s father and his family, I don’t think we’d be having this conversation.

  25. Oregon Democrat says:

I loved it when Craig kept plugging Current…only one click away from Imus…by the way…Current needs to spend some money on production values…Jennifer Granholm’s show looks like a local cable access show…

  26. RebelliousRenee says:

Flatus… my concern really didn’t have much to do with Patsi… it was mainly for OSH. Each of us brings our own life’s experience in how we feel about things. Seeing your post evoked something from my experience. I see it’s the same for you.

I thought it so much my civic duty to vote that I became involved in the election process in my town. Now I confess to feeling ambivalent if I really made a difference. However, I will continue to vote.

Thank you for the thoughtful reply.

  27. RebelliousRenee says:

WOW… Romney scheduling interviews with 5 major networks…

sounds like someone isn’t panicking too much about the continuing Bain narrative… Wink

  28. Flatus says:

    Announcing his retirement??

  29. Flatus says:

    From Bain?

  30. Flatus says:

    Or the campaign?

  31. xrepublican says:

condoleeza rice is (in my estimation) the best republican pol. period. I don’t know what kind of candidate she’d make for luring indies, but as a pro-choice female, and black besides, she’d be an hourly reminder that willard is a pro-choice-pro-lifer: definitely a negative.

condi started calling the shots after cheney mistook a man for a pheasant. That incident ruined cheney’s career as Acting President. The chief beneficiary of cheney’s raging alcoholism was condoleeza rice, who immediately stepped in to fill the power vaccum. The cheneyites will never forgive condi; they still blame her for cheney’s eclipse. This blaming of someone/anyone else is typical gamy alcoholic behavior. Anywho, condi is still at the top of the cheney shiftlist.

There is NO way that those very few condi-backers could get her past the cheneyites and pro-lifers at the convention. Her VP candidacy is DOA.

  32. sturgeone says:

ms rice has no intention of tying herself to a loser in a futile bid for elected office.

  33. sturgeone says:

not to mention the strong possibility that she probably also considers romney to be a total scheisskopf.

  34. sturgeone says:

dammit, I seem to have mentioned it.

  35. xrepublican says:

    I’m still thinking jindal.

I’ve recently thought of other -- non-satirical -- possibilities. Think safe senators* :

    1. kyl (said he wouldn’t run again unless selected as vp candidate) 2. imhofe 3. sessions 4. burr** 5. former senator kit bond. 6. grassley** 7.former senator phil gramm
    * Senators are very popular picks for weak presidential campaigns : g h bush, Dukakis, W J Clinton, Gore all picked Sens.
    **swing state bonus

Let’s face it, running with willard is a lose-lose situation. In the likely event that oh,bummer is re-elected, having run as romney’s second, could lead to a job with fakes news and lucrative book deals. For the younger ones, perhaps a shot at the White House in 2012.

  36. Jamie says:

    Craig,

What you were trying to describe on Spitzer tonight is what is known on twitter as the #humblebrag where your praise of yourself is encapsulated in a modest put down.

  37. wsottile says:

It was pretty obvious Imus was instructed to not even mention Current TV especially that it is the channel right next to Fox Business on DirecTV.

  38. whskyjack says:

I finely chopped up a large beefsteak tomato, added garlic , a head of fennel with the seeds in the soft mik stage a hand of basil leaves fresh oregano and thyme, all finely chopped. I put it in a glass pie dish, took about 1/2 cup of soft goat cheese place it in the center and broiled until the tomatoes have come to a boil and then some more.

I bought a fresh bagette slice it and toasted half left the other fresh.
spread the cheese and tomatoes on the bread or toast.
Don’t for get a good cheap white wine, we bought Toad Hollow at $13.
    Damn I’m a good cook.

ok, heh-heh, you caught me lying for effect….shit, I have to admit it…..there were several other god particles to that riddumun bloudes thing…..
