Not really. The Washington Post gnawed off its own limbs over the years I’ve been here. When I moved to DC in 1989 the paper featured some of the most expert journalists on every topic, from NASA to presidential politics. I knew there was trouble several years ago when the Post ran a front page story about riding lawn mowers, an obvious play for suburban readers who didn’t give a crap about anything outside their zip code.
Amazon buys the Post? Why not?
